Detroit Lakes Woman Charged After .17 Breath Tests
DETROIT LAKES (trfnews.i234.me) — A Detroit Lakes woman faces two gross misdemeanor impaired-driving charges in Becker County District Court.
Lynn Sharon Hendricks is charged with third-degree driving while impaired. She also faces third-degree driving with an alcohol concentration of .08 or higher.
The charges follow an alleged traffic stop on May 16, 2026. Court records list one aggravating factor in the case.
Caller Reported SUV Crossing Roadway
Authorities received a driving complaint at about 3:39 p.m., according to the criminal complaint.
The caller reported a red Chevrolet SUV moving across the roadway. The caller also reported the vehicle entering an oncoming traffic lane.
The SUV allegedly left Minnesota Highway 34 and entered Highland Drive. It later traveled toward Eighth Avenue Southeast.
A state trooper located the SUV near Eighth Street Southeast and Eleventh Avenue.
The complaint says the SUV made a slow turn onto Eleventh Avenue. It allegedly came close to striking a squad vehicle.
Court records also state the vehicle had expired registration. Emergency lights and a siren were activated before the driver stopped.

Complaint Alleges Signs of Impairment
Hendricks was identified as the driver, according to the complaint.
The complaint alleges she smelled of alcohol and repeated herself. It also alleges that her speech was slurred.
Hendricks agreed to complete field sobriety tests. Prosecutors allege she performed poorly during those tests.
A preliminary breath test showed an alcohol concentration of .17, the complaint states.
Hendricks was arrested and transported to the Becker County Jail.
At the jail, she received Minnesota’s breath test advisory. She then agreed to another breath test.
Prosecutors allege the second test also showed an alcohol concentration of .17.
Two Gross Misdemeanor Charges Filed
Hendricks is charged under Minnesota Statute 169A.20 and Minnesota Statute 169A.26.
Each charge carries a maximum possible sentence of one year in jail.
Each charge also carries a possible fine of up to $3,000. Those penalties are maximums and are not a sentence.
The case was filed in Minnesota’s Seventh Judicial District. The court file number is 03-CR-26-1005.
Public case information may be available through Minnesota Court Records Online.
A criminal complaint contains allegations and is not proof of guilt. Hendricks is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
