Detroit Lakes, Becker County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Waubun woman faces felony charges after a late-night arrest in Detroit Lakes.

Police say the woman fought officers and later fought jail staff. The woman is 22-year-old Katie Jolene Reich, according to court records. Reich was taken into custody early Thursday morning.

What police allege

Officers were sent to an apartment building around 12:45 a.m. Callers reported a drunk woman pounding on doors. Callers also reported yelling inside the hallway. Police say Reich would not leave the building.

Officers found Reich inside the entry area, the complaint says. Police say she tried to force her way into an apartment. Reich told officers the unit was hers. A resident inside said Reich did not live there.

Police say an officer tried to detain Reich. They say she became combative right away. The complaint says she kicked an officer in the leg. Police say she also tried to kick his torso. The complaint says she yelled vulgar words during the struggle.

Squad car incident

Officers placed Reich in a squad car, the complaint says. Police say she began kicking the rear window. They say she also hit her head inside the car. Officers pulled over to re-secure her, the complaint says.

Police say Reich kicked another officer in the chest. They say she then spit on his face. The complaint says she also bit him on the neck and ear. Police later used leg restraints, the complaint says.
