Detroit Lakes Man Sentenced In Sex Case
Detroit Lakes, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) — Jonathan Dale Eifealdt, 25, of rural Detroit Lakes, has been sentenced in Becker County District Court.
Eifealdt was sentenced on a felony second-degree criminal sexual conduct charge. A felony first-degree criminal sexual conduct charge was dismissed under a plea agreement.
Court records say Eifealdt had sexual contact with a minor girl on two occasions. The girl was more than five years younger than him.
Sentence Stayed For 20 Years
On April 27, Becker County District Judge Michelle W. Lawson sentenced Eifealdt to 36 months in state prison at St. Cloud. That prison term was stayed for 20 years.
Conditional release after confinement was set at 10 years. Eifealdt was also ordered to serve 90 days in jail.
He received credit for one day already served. He was fined $500 and ordered to pay $85 in court fees.

Court Orders Restrictions
As part of the sentence, Eifealdt was ordered not to drink alcohol or use drugs. He must also register as a predatory offender.
He was ordered to complete outpatient sex offender treatment. He must also take cognitive skills training.
The court also ordered him to follow cognitive behavioral programming as directed.
Eifealdt may have no contact with the victim. He may also have no contact with anyone under 18.
That restriction remains in effect unless his probation agent approves it.
Separate Case Still Pending
The sentence will be served consecutively with a separate felony third-degree criminal sexual conduct case.
In that case, Eifealdt is accused of sexually assaulting a girl in her early teens in 2022. That case remains a separate court matter.
