Becker County (trfnews.i234.me) – A Detroit Lakes man has been sentenced for violating a no-contact order — a felony offense due to prior convictions — in Becker County District Court.
Scot Joseph Tolgoni, 30, was sentenced on June 25 by Judge Michael Fritz, despite no criminal complaint being publicly available in the case. The court found him guilty of violating a no-contact order within 10 years of the first of two or more similar offenses.
Judge Fritz issued a downward departure from state sentencing guidelines, ordering Tolgoni to serve 24 months in prison at St. Cloud, stayed for five years. Instead of going to prison immediately, he was sentenced to 75 days in the Becker County Jail, with 50 days already served credited.
Tolgoni will be on supervised probation for five years. As part of his probation conditions, he must:
-
Complete a domestic abuse batterer’s program
-
Undergo a comprehensive assessment and comply with all recommended aftercare
-
Refrain from possessing or using firearms, ammunition, or explosives
He was also ordered to pay a $50 fine and $85 in court fees.
