Detroit Lakes (trfnews.i234.me) — Federal officers with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement made at least one arrest Monday morning.
The incident happened in Detroit Lakes, according to a video posted online.
Video shows officers outside China Buffet
The video was shared by Grace Waawaate-Ikwe Roberts on Facebook.
Roberts has more than 6,000 followers on her page.
The clip shows several agents in a parking lot near China Buffet.
The restaurant sits in a mini-mall at 317 Frazee Street in Detroit Lakes.
In the video, Roberts says she warned her partner not to go to work.
She says she heard ICE agents were in town that morning.
Roberts then speaks with an agent on camera.
The agent says the detained man would be taken to Fort Snelling first.
Where the man may be taken
ICE lists its St. Paul Field Office at 1 Federal Drive, Suite 1601, Fort Snelling.
The agent in the video said he did not know the man’s next location.
ICE has not released the man’s name in public reports.
ICE also has not released a reason for the detention.

Local agencies refer questions to ICE
The Detroit Lakes police chief was not immediately available for comment Monday.
The Becker County sheriff said questions should be directed to ICE.
Tension remains high after Minneapolis shooting
The Detroit Lakes arrest came during high tension in Minnesota.
On Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, ICE shot and killed Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis.
MPR News and CBS News reported Good was 37 and a mother of three.
ICE said the shooting was in self-defense.
Witnesses disputed that account in early reports.
Protests followed in Minneapolis and other cities.
