Otter Tail County (trfnews.i234.me) — Allen Alberts, 33, of Dent, Minnesota, is charged with manslaughter in the death of his girlfriend, Nichole Schoultz, 40.
Court documents say Schoultz was thrown into a farm field after a pickup rolled off the road. Investigators say Alberts waited nearly three hours before getting medical help.
No-Contact Order Cited
Authorities say Alberts and Schoultz had been drinking at a Perham bar before the crash. Alberts was under a no-contact order involving Schoultz after a March domestic violence case.
Alberts told investigators he delayed calling for help because he feared going to jail. He is also charged with violating the no-contact order.
Schoultz was later taken to a hospital, where nurses said she was already dead.
Alberts was ordered held Tuesday, May 5, on a $500,000 bond. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison.
