Crookston Woman Faces Drug and Ammo Charges

CROOKSTON (trfnews.i234.me) — A Crookston woman faces four charges following a July traffic stop near a city park.

Deborah Deanne Robinson, 48, is charged in Polk County District Court.

The charges include two felonies and two misdemeanor driving offenses.

Robinson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Traffic Stop Near Crookston Park

According to the criminal complaint, Robinson was driving a Chevrolet Silverado on July 1, 2026.

A Minnesota State Patrol trooper stopped the truck on South Minnesota Street.

The complaint says a rear camera blocked part of the license plate.

The truck also allegedly had a brake light that was not working.

The vehicle traveled near Wildflower Garden Park before the stop.

Robinson reportedly told authorities she had borrowed the truck while moving to Thief River Falls.

The trooper reported seeing possible signs of drug use during the stop.

Robinson allegedly said she had recently used cannabis and several prescription medications.

She was arrested after completing field sobriety tests.

Authorities searched the truck after Robinson’s arrest.

The complaint says they found a pen containing white residue inside Robinson’s purse.

They also found a rolled dollar bill with white residue.

A field test reportedly showed the residue contained methamphetamine.

Investigators also reported finding two rounds of ammunition inside the truck.

The ammunition included a .223-caliber round and a .22-250-caliber round.

Robinson denied owning the ammunition, according to the complaint.

She reportedly acknowledged that a prior felony conviction barred her from possessing ammunition.

Robinson later agreed to searches of her Crookston residence and cellphone.

Investigators reported finding a plastic tray near the kitchen sink.

The tray allegedly contained a white crystal-like substance.

The substance field-tested positive for methamphetamine, the complaint states.

Robinson is charged with third-degree controlled substance possession in a prohibited zone.

That felony carries a maximum sentence of 20 years and a $250,000 fine.

She also faces a felony charge for possessing ammunition after a qualifying conviction.

That offense carries between five and 15 years in prison.

The two fourth-degree DWI charges each carry up to 90 days in jail.
