Crookston Teen Charged After DWI Crash

Polk County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Crookston teenager is facing felony and misdemeanor charges after a July crash that seriously injured his twin brother, according to court documents.

Antonio James Lamb, 18, of Crookston, is charged with criminal vehicular operation causing substantial bodily harm and underage drinking and driving.

The charges stem from an incident reported on July 8, 2026, in Crookston, Minnesota.

Court Documents Outline Crash Investigation

According to the criminal complaint filed in Polk County District Court, authorities responded to Riverview Health in Crookston around 1:40 a.m.

Investigators said a blue Buick Regal was parked outside the emergency room entrance. Inside the vehicle was Lamb’s twin brother, identified in court documents as A.L.L.

The complaint states that medical staff found A.L.L. suffering from serious injuries after being removed from the vehicle.

According to the complaint, Lamb initially claimed another person had been driving. Investigators said Lamb later admitted he was driving during the incident.

The complaint states Lamb and A.L.L. had been drinking earlier in the night. Court documents allege A.L.L. was leaning out of the vehicle’s sunroof while it was moving.

Lamb allegedly told investigators that he accelerated and A.L.L. fell from the vehicle.

Alcohol Testing and Charges

The complaint states Lamb showed signs of alcohol impairment after arriving at the hospital.

Investigators reported Lamb had bloodshot eyes, smelled strongly of alcohol, and had difficulty completing simple tasks.

Court documents state a preliminary breath test showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.208.

Lamb was arrested, and a blood sample was collected for additional testing through the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

The felony charge of criminal vehicular operation carries a possible sentence of up to three years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

The underage drinking and driving charge is a misdemeanor with possible penalties of up to 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Victim Reported Serious Injuries

The complaint states A.L.L. was later treated at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Medical information listed in court documents described multiple injuries, including road rash, facial injuries, and fractures.

The complaint states A.L.L. reported a lower spine fracture, facial fractures, and injuries requiring stitches.

Court records indicate Antonio Lamb has no prior criminal convictions in Minnesota.

All charges are allegations, and Lamb is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
