Grand Forks County, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – A Crookston man, Angel Alberto Torres-Sosa, 33, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison following his conviction in Grand Forks for Class A felony kidnapping, attempted gross sexual imposition, and aggravated assault.
The incident occurred in October 2023, when Torres-Sosa offered a woman a ride from a bar, only to drive her to a residence where he violently attacked and tried to sexually assault her. After a three-and-a-half hour jury deliberation in December, he was found guilty, though acquitted on one count of terrorizing.
The trial featured 14 witnesses, along with 911 audio, DNA, toxicology, and video evidence.
Torres-Sosa was handed the maximum sentence for a Class A felony—20 years, plus 5 years of supervised probation after release. He was given credit for 614 days already served since his 2023 arrest.
