CROOKSTON, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Jison Adam Delong, 34, faces a gross misdemeanor DWI charge following a late-night traffic stop in Crookston.

According to a Polk County criminal complaint, Delong allegedly admitted drinking at least ten beers before driving.

Police reported a preliminary breath test reading of 0.254.

A later official breath test recorded an alcohol concentration of 0.24, according to court documents.

Police Stop Pickup After Observing Erratic Driving

The incident began around 11:44 p.m. on September 20, 2026.

An officer was patrolling South Main Street when a white pickup truck caught the officer’s attention.

According to the complaint, the pickup drifted toward the curb before correcting toward the opposite side.

The officer also noticed problems with the vehicle’s rear lighting.

Police reported that the driver slowed at a stop sign but failed to stop completely.

The officer initiated a traffic stop near South Main Street and Fourth Avenue South.

The driver was identified as Jison Adam Delong.

Driver Allegedly Admits Drinking Ten Beers

During the stop, Delong reportedly told the officer he was coming from his boss’s home.

When asked about his driving, Delong allegedly admitted consuming alcohol.

According to the complaint, he estimated drinking at least ten beers.

The officer reported smelling alcohol and noticing slurred speech and glossy eyes.

Delong also appeared to struggle with his balance while walking beside the pickup.

The complaint states he repeatedly acknowledged being drunk during the investigation.

Field Sobriety Tests Raise Concerns

The officer began conducting field sobriety tests to assess possible impairment.

During an eye movement test, the officer reported observing six of six possible clues.

Delong also reportedly struggled to maintain his balance while preparing for a walking test.

According to court documents, he expressed concern that he might fall.

The officer stopped further balance testing because of those safety concerns.

A preliminary breath test then produced a reported alcohol concentration of 0.254.

Police arrested Delong and transported him to the Northwest Regional Corrections Center.

Official Breath Test Records 0.24

After arriving at the correctional facility, officers completed the required breath-testing process.

According to the complaint, Delong agreed to provide a breath sample.

The official test was completed at 12:34 a.m. on September 21, 2026.

It produced a reported alcohol concentration of 0.24 grams per 210 liters of breath.

That reading is three times Minnesota’s general legal driving limit of 0.08.

Under Minnesota Statute 169A.03, a reading of 0.16 or higher qualifies as an aggravating factor.

Third-Degree DWI Charge Filed

Delong faces one gross misdemeanor third-degree DWI charge under Minnesota Statute 169A.26.

The charge carries a maximum sentence of 364 days in jail, a $3,000 fine, or both.

The complaint states that investigators did not find any qualifying prior impaired-driving convictions during their records review.

The reported alcohol concentration forms the aggravating factor identified in the charge.

Polk County Court Proceedings

The amended complaint was filed September 21, 2026, in Minnesota’s Ninth Judicial District.

The case is listed under Polk County Court File No. 60-CR-26-1381.

Public court information can be searched through Minnesota Court Records Online.

The charge remains an allegation. Delong is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
