Crookston Man Charged After Parking Lot Assault
Crookston (trfnews.i234.me) — A Crookston man is facing felony assault charges after an alleged fight outside an apartment complex that left another person injured.
Chris Gabriel Noah, 53, is charged in Polk County District Court with third-degree assault causing substantial bodily harm. He also faces gross misdemeanor charges for assault and obstructing the legal process.
The charges stem from an incident reported on June 28, 2026, at an apartment complex parking area in Crookston.
Police Respond To Reported Fight
According to the criminal complaint, officers were called to the area after reports of a fight near a gazebo.
When authorities arrived, they found one man on the ground with blood on his face. A woman was also reported injured.
The injured man was identified as J.M.L. The complaint states he suffered a deep cut above his eye and later needed stitches.
Investigators say the dispute began after Noah approached a group of people outside the apartment building.
The complaint alleges an argument started and became physical.
According to court documents, Noah allegedly struck J.M.L. several times and damaged his glasses during the incident.

The complaint also states another person, identified as T.M.S., was pushed during the incident.
Authorities said T.M.S. fell and was injured while trying to intervene.
Witnesses told investigators they believed Noah had been drinking before the confrontation.
When officers attempted to arrest Noah, the complaint alleges he resisted efforts to place him into a squad vehicle.
Noah was later taken into custody.
Previous Court Case
Court documents show Noah was previously convicted of harassment in Polk County in 2025.
That case resulted in a stayed jail sentence and probation conditions.
The new charges remain allegations. A defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
