CROOKSTON GRAND FORKS POLICE DEPARTMENT RESPOND TO MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT

On Saturday, May 11, at 7:40 p.m., officers of the Grand Forks Police Department were dispatched to the 900 block of S. 20th St. for a two-vehicle accident between a motorcycle and a car.

An investigation of the accident determined that a 2007 Toyota Camry was traveling northbound on S. 20th St. when it attempted to turn left into the Ben Franklin Elementary School parking lot. At this time, a 2010 Yamaha V95 motorcycle was traveling southbound on S. 20th St. The Yamaha struck the right rear passenger side of the Camry.

The Toyota Camry was driven by Heather Wippler, age 39, of Grand Forks, ND. The Yamaha V95 was driven by Tyler Power, age 33, of Grand Forks, ND. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage.

There were no reported injuries on scene, though Power was transported by an Altru ambulance as a precaution.

Power was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and cited for No Liability Insurance and Unqualified Operator.
