Crookston (trfnews.i234.me) — A North Dakota woman is facing charges in Polk County District Court after a traffic stop in Crookston.
According to a court complaint, Kaylee Ann Knatterud, of Oberon, North Dakota, was charged with third-degree driving while impaired.
The charge is a gross misdemeanor under Minnesota law.
Knatterud is also charged with driving without insurance.
Traffic Stop In Crookston
The complaint says the stop happened on May 2, 2026, at about 2:03 a.m.
A Polk County deputy reported seeing a white 2013 Ford F-150 on North Broadway.
The vehicle later turned west onto West 6th Street.
Court records say the vehicle made a wide turn.
The deputy also reported seeing the vehicle swerve into a turn lane.
The vehicle then returned to its lane, according to the complaint.
The complaint says the vehicle later drove on the center line.
A traffic stop was then made in Crookston.
Insurance Allegation
Knatterud was identified as the driver.
Two passengers were also inside the vehicle, according to the complaint.
The deputy asked for proof of insurance.
Knatterud allegedly said the vehicle had been bought two days earlier.
She also allegedly said insurance had not yet been added.

Breath Test Result Alleged
The complaint says the deputy noted signs of possible alcohol use.
Those signs included bloodshot and watery eyes.
The deputy also reported smelling alcohol from the vehicle.
Knatterud allegedly nodded yes when asked if she had too much to drink.
She later declined field sobriety testing, according to the complaint.
She also declined a preliminary breath test at the scene.
Knatterud was arrested and taken to the Northwest Regional Correctional Center.
At the correctional center, she was read the Minnesota breath test advisory.
The complaint says she later agreed to provide a breath sample.
At 3:18 a.m., the sample allegedly showed a blood alcohol concentration of .21.

Court Case Continues
The third-degree DWI charge carries a maximum penalty of 364 days in jail.
It also carries a possible fine of up to $3,000.
The no insurance charge carries a maximum penalty of 90 days in jail.
It also carries a possible fine of up to $1,000.
The case is filed in Polk County District Court.
The court file number is 60-CR-26-573.
All charges are allegations.
Knatterud is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
