Polk County (trfnews.i234.me) – A Grand Forks man is facing felony and misdemeanor charges after a meth-related traffic stop in Crookston on April 5, 2025 led to a disturbing drug discovery near Locken Park.

Norman Harold Berdahl Jr., 59, was charged with:

  • Felony possession of methamphetamine in a prohibited zone (near Locken Park),

  • DWI – driving under the influence of a controlled substance,

  • 4th-degree DWI – operating a vehicle with meth in his system.

MSP Trooper Scott Olslund pulled Berdahl over for running a red light and speeding. Signs of impairment led to field sobriety attempts, which Berdahl failed. A search revealed multiple baggies of meth, paraphernalia, a digital scale, and other drug-related items in a tote bag. Berdahl confessed to using meth earlier and admitted the drugs were his.

He was arrested and taken to Northwest Regional Corrections Center (NWRCC) where he again confirmed meth use and a prior meth manufacturing conviction.
