Two people were hurt Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash near the University of Minnesota Crookston campus.
Minnesota State Patrol said the crash happened at 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 15, 2026.
It happened at Highway 2 and South Road.
Roads were wet.
What happened
Troopers said a 1996 Chevrolet Caprice was going north on Highway 2.
A 2006 Ford Focus was going west on South Road.
The vehicles collided in the intersection.
People involved
- Leonard John Woinarowicz, 62, of Euclid, drove the Caprice. He was not hurt.
- Adeline Beatrice Woinarowicz, 82, of Euclid, rode in the Caprice. Her injuries were not life-threatening.
- Nickolaus Harvey Bachmeier, 18, of Crookston, drove the Focus. His injuries were not life-threatening.
Troopers said Bachmeier was treated at Crookston Hospital.

Airbags, belts, and alcohol
The Caprice airbag deployed.
The Focus airbag did not deploy.
Seat belts were listed as in use for all occupants.
Troopers did not suspect alcohol for anyone.

Assisting agencies included the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and Crookston Police.
Crookston Fire and Crookston EMS also responded.
