Clay County (trfnews.i234.me) – Police are investigating a double fatal shooting at a Moorhead apartment early Saturday morning.

According to a statement from the Moorhead Police Department, officers were dispatched at 3:54 a.m. on August 16th to an apartment building in the 1100 block of 2nd Avenue South for a report of gunfire.

Inside the apartment, police found two adults, ages 53 and 21, both deceased from gunshot wounds. A firearm was recovered at the scene.

Authorities said a juvenile and another adult were also present inside the apartment at the time of the shooting. Neither was injured, and both are cooperating with investigators.

Police are not seeking any suspects, and no one is currently in custody. Officials emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the public, but they have asked residents to avoid the immediate area as the scene remains active.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) has been called in to process the crime scene. Residents of the Midtown Manor Apartments have been allowed to remain in their units while investigators work.

At this time, police have not classified the shooting as a murder-suicide, but they have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.

The Moorhead Fire Department and Clay County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene. Authorities say additional details will be released as the case develops.
