Charges Filed Against Driver in Snake River Crash

OSLO, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Christopher Marciniak, 20, of Drayton, North Dakota, faces criminal charges following a March 23rd crash into the Snake River near Oslo, Minnesota. Marciniak and three passengers plunged into the river after his pickup veered off Highway 17 and 220 just after midnight.

Emergency responders were already at the scene when the investigating trooper arrived. Marciniak and his passengers were being transported to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Marciniak provided a preliminary breathalyzer test, registering .144. While Marciniak and two passengers were released with minor injuries, one male passenger remained hospitalized with head injuries and broken ribs.

Marciniak admitted to the trooper that he had been “burning donuts” in a field, lost control of the pickup, and ended up in the river. He now faces two felony charges of criminal vehicular operation for causing great bodily harm and substantial bodily harm.
