Chaos in Brainerd: 35-Year-Old Man Arrested for Shooting and Abduction

BRAINERD, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – On November 1st, a suspect was arrested by law enforcement in connection to a shooting death that occurred on Loerch Road near Brainerd. The victim of the shooting was identified as Lyle Maske, age 62.

The Crow Wing County sheriff’s office reported that Chad Aanerud, a 35-year-old man from Brainerd, is suspected of taking five individuals against their will from a residence on Loerch Road and leaving the scene in a white Chrysler Pacifica. The incident occurred at approximately 1:50 am.

An Amber Alert was issued by law enforcement with information about Aanerud and his vehicle. At around 7:15 am, the vehicle was located and stopped by authorities in Morrison County. Aanerud was taken into custody without incident, and the five individuals were found unharmed inside the vehicle.
