Cass County, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) — A woman from Ogema is charged after a smoke call. Prosecutors filed the case this week.

Charlene Ann St. Clair, 47, is charged with felony Threats of Violence. The complaint cites “reckless disregard” risk.

What deputies say happened

Court records say deputies responded at about 2:09 a.m. on Feb. 1, 2026. They went to the 8600 block of Midway Drive NW.

The complaint says the residence was filled with smoke. A deputy forced entry into the home. The deputy found St. Clair coughing inside.

The deputy pulled her out to safety, the complaint says. Ambulance staff checked her at the scene. She was later cleared for jail.

Alleged threats during the drive

After the medical check, deputies arrested St. Clair, court papers say. During transport, she became aggressive inside the squad car.

The complaint says she hit the cage and punched it. It says she threatened to “stab” the deputy. It also says she threatened to “kill” the deputy.

Investigators wrote that the threats continued while they drove through Walker. The complaint also says she used vulgar insults.

Probation status and alcohol test

Law enforcement later confirmed she was on probation, the complaint says. The probation was tied to a prior homicide conviction.

Officers tried to reach a state corrections agent and got no answer. A preliminary breath test read 0.233, according to the filing.

Court and custody status

St. Clair made an initial appearance after the arrest. A judge set bail with several options.

Bail was set at $20,000 with no conditions. Bail was set at $2,000 with conditions. The court also listed $200 cash with conditions.

She remains in custody unless bail is posted. The alleged offense date is Feb. 1, 2026. The case was filed on Feb. 3, 2026.
