Cass County (trfnews.i234.me): Electrical Meter Explodes at Fargo Business

We have an update on Tuesday’s electrical fire at 3343 South University Drive in Fargo, North Dakota.
Firefighters say an electrical meter exploded outside Red River Cleaning Services late Tuesday afternoon.

According to fire officials, crews were called to the business after reports of loud popping and crackling from electrical equipment on the side of the building.
The explosion was traced to the electrical meter located near the back of the structure.

A Fargo Fire Department battalion chief confirmed that no one was injured and that the steel building suffered no significant damage.
Firefighters waited on scene for Xcel Energy crews to arrive and safely shut off the power.

Officials said the explosion caused a brief power disruption in the immediate area.
No smoke or flames were visible from the main structure, and the situation was quickly brought under control.

Emergency crews remained at the scene for a short time to ensure there was no further electrical hazard.
Fire officials say the incident highlights the importance of keeping clear of electrical meters or wiring when equipment malfunctions or sparks.

Residents are reminded to report any electrical arcing, smoke, or loud crackling sounds to utility companies or local emergency services immediately.

The Fargo Fire Department and Xcel Energy continue to investigate the cause of the malfunction.
