A Carver County man has been sentenced to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to first-degree assault in a violent attack at a Fleet Farm store.
Gerald Dwayne Hudson, 31, was sentenced to 84 months behind bars by a Carver County judge on February 4, 2025.
According to court records, the assault occurred on November 24, 2024, when Hudson attacked a 17-year-old employee at the Fleet Farm store in Carver, Minnesota. Surveillance footage showed Hudson stabbing the teenager in the back of the neck, causing severe blood loss and a deep laceration.
After the attack, Hudson fled the scene in an SUV but was later arrested in Chanhassen.
Prosecutors initially charged Hudson with first-degree and second-degree assault, but the latter charge was dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
