BECKER COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) – John David Foye, Jr., 47, of Rocklin, California, is facing felony theft by swindle charges in Becker County District Court after allegedly conning a man out of $13,800 in a fake online vehicle sale.
According to court records, on Feb. 6, a local man reported wiring funds for a 2009 black Cadillac from the “Good Guy Auto Sales LLC” website, but never received the car. Investigators discovered the business address in Colorado was fake, and the bank account used for the wire belonged to a church, not a dealership.
Further investigation linked the same account to similar frauds in Louisiana, where authorities found Foye’s name on a withdrawal slip. He was identified as the sole depositor in the scheme.
Foye is scheduled for his first court appearance on July 24 before Judge Michelle Lawson.
