CASS LAKE, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – In a shocking update to a tragic incident north of Cass Lake, Minnesota, Arthur James Jones has been charged with second-degree murder following the strangulation death of his brother early Saturday morning.

According to the statement of probable cause, Beltrami County dispatch received an emergency call at 4:36 a.m., reporting a violent altercation between two brothers outside a residence on Ten Lake Trail East. Leech Lake police officers arrived on the scene to find Jones on top of his brother, applying a chokehold with alarming force. Despite repeated commands from the officers to release the victim, Jones refused to comply, even after being tasered. Chillingly, Jones was heard stating, “He’s already dead.”

Officers finally managed to pull Jones off his brother, who was unresponsive and without a pulse. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the hospital around 5:30 a.m. Witnesses corroborated the brutal nature of the attack, describing Jones’ relentless grip on his brother’s neck.
