neil carlson here with an update on some breaking news that started out of east grand forks early this morning it’s now 7 00 a.m i’m over on the grand forks side i was told by an east grand forks dispatcher they had a pursuit in which the the suspect fled on foot and apparently jumped into the river uh there now it sounded like he was trying to make his way to the grand forks side of the river here i’m at 40th avenue north and north columbia road got officers down there along the river scouting the river it sounded like a water rescue was called in at one point an officer said this looks like a life or death situation the suspect was running out of steam and was floating down the middle of the river and latest radio traffic is that maybe he was hiding in some brush along the river a very thick brush down there along the river we can’t get in there to give you a direct shot of the scene yet but uh water rescue called after the suspect who flooded east grand forks pursuit apparently jumped in the river and tried to make his way to the grand forks side of the river here again this is on the far north side of grand forks off columbia road at about 40th avenue north so we’ll keep you updated on what happens i’m neil carlson reporting for inews dot tv
