WARROAD, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – 42-year-old Tyson Lawrence Meyer of Warroad, Minnesota, is facing two felony charges following a bar fight on June 27th. Court records indicate that just before 11:00 p.m., officers responded to Breaker’s Bar, where a group of people had gathered outside. Cell phone footage showed Meyer on top of a man, repeatedly punching him in the head. The victim required 13 staples to close a large gash on his head. Officers later apprehended Meyer at his Warroad apartment, where they also discovered two long guns. As a convicted felon, Meyer is prohibited from possessing firearms. He has been charged with assault and possession of a firearm following a conviction of a crime of violence.

Scott L. Painter, the alleged victim, is also facing charges. The criminal complaint states that Painter, heavily intoxicated, drove his bicycle into a crowd outside the bar, hitting one person. After falling, Painter attempted to fight several people and struck his former spouse in the face. Witnesses reported that Painter would not leave her alone. Painter has been charged with a gross misdemeanor of harassment, misdemeanor assault, and misdemeanor domestic assault. The court documents do not clarify what led to Meyer’s alleged assault on Painter.
