Bowbells Fatal Train Crash Kills Kenmare Driver
Burke County (trfnews.i234.me) — A 72-year-old Kenmare man died Thursday after a dump truck was struck by a train in rural Bowbells.
The crash happened May 28, 2026, at about 4:21 p.m.
According to the North Dakota State Highway Patrol, the crash happened near 93rd Street Northwest and 69th Avenue Northwest.
The location is in rural Bowbells, in Burke County.
Dump Truck Hit While Crossing Tracks
Authorities said a 1978 Ford dump truck was traveling east on 93rd Street Northwest.
The truck then crossed railroad tracks near 69th Avenue Northwest.
An incoming BNSF Railway train was approaching the crossing at the same time.
The train struck the dump truck in a T-bone crash.
The driver of the dump truck died from injuries suffered in the crash.
Officials said the driver was wearing a seat belt.
His name was not released in the initial report.
