Bison Wrestling Adds Daugherty – NDSU

FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State wrestling and head coach Obenson Blanc have announced the addition of transfer Tristan Daugherty to the 2024 signee class on Monday.
 
Daugherty will join the Bison from the University of Buffalo, where he spent the last four seasons at 125 pounds, totaling a 25-18 record. He started every dual for the Bulls as a true freshman, going 7-5 and 5-2 in MAC duals before placing in the MAC championships.
 
The Bartonville, Illinois native picked up 14 wins in his second season before a fourth-place finish at the MAC Championships. Daugherty then battled injuries over the last two seasons, recording a 4-1 record in limited action. Daugherty has eight career bonus point wins, including two falls, two tech falls and four major decisions.
 
In high school, Daugherty was named the 2020 Peoria Journal Star Wrestler of the Year after becoming the first state champion in Peoria Notre Dame High School history. He was also the first wrestler in his school’s history to earn four state medals after also earning three third-place finishes.
