According to a criminal complaint, McLean faces one count of fifth-degree assault. The charge is listed as a gross misdemeanor. Court records say it falls within three years of a previous qualifying conviction.

What The Complaint Says

The complaint says the incident happened on March 31, 2026, at about 11:45 p.m. It took place at Sanford Health in Bemidji.

Authorities say McLean was inside an ER workroom. Patients are not allowed in that area. A hospital security guard, identified in the complaint as D.C., said McLean refused repeated requests to leave.

The complaint says security then tried to remove her from the room. During that effort, McLean became combative. She allegedly kicked D.C. in the right hand. The guard reported pain, and the hand was set to be X-rayed.

Investigators also reviewed security video. The complaint says the video showed McLean kicking the guard.
