Bemidji Woman Charged in $656 Ulta Theft Case

Bemidji (trfnews.i234.me) — Jessica Eleanor Goose faces a gross misdemeanor theft charge in Beltrami County District Court.

Prosecutors allege Goose took $656 in merchandise from Ulta Beauty in Bemidji.

Ulta Reports Merchandise Missing

Law enforcement responded to Ulta Beauty around 10:39 a.m. after receiving a theft report.

Store employee Madeline Stangel told authorities that two people had left shortly before police arrived.

Stangel gave investigators descriptions of the two people, according to the complaint.

Authorities later identified Jessica Eleanor Goose as the female suspect.

Stangel was shown photographs and identified Goose, the complaint states.

Investigators later received surveillance video and a store report from Ulta.

The complaint says investigators reviewed store video from the June 30 incident.

Authorities reported seeing Goose take merchandise from a store shelf.

The merchandise was allegedly placed inside her purse.

Prosecutors say Goose then walked past the store’s checkout areas.

She allegedly left Ulta without attempting to pay for the merchandise.

Ulta reported the value of the merchandise at $656.

The criminal complaint does not identify the specific products allegedly taken.

The law prohibits intentionally taking another person’s movable property without consent.

It also requires an intent to permanently deprive the owner of that property.

Under Minnesota law, theft between $500 and $1,000 can be a gross misdemeanor.
