Bemidji (trfnews.i234.me) — A Bemidji woman is facing charges after a stabbing investigation near the Beltrami County and Red Lake Nation border.

Kelliann Catherine Hanson, 37, has been charged in Beltrami County District Court. The case is filed under Court File No. 04-CR-26-917.

Hanson is charged with felony aiding an offender to avoid arrest. She is also charged with fourth-degree DWI.

The complaint says the incident happened on or about April 21, 2026. Court records say law enforcement responded after a reported stabbing.

Stabbing Investigation Leads To Arrest

According to the complaint, authorities were told a person identified as N.L. had stabbed a victim in the neck. The weapon was described as a fillet knife.

Investigators later found N.L. outside a home on Irvine Avenue Northeast in Beltrami County. N.L. was then placed under arrest.

Authorities said Hanson had driven N.L. to that location. The complaint says the Toyota sedan was still warm when officers arrived.

Complaint Details Alleged Statements

The complaint says Hanson showed signs of recent drug use. Those signs included glassy eyes and pinpoint pupils.

Hanson allegedly admitted she drove the vehicle. She also allegedly said she had smoked methamphetamine earlier that day.

In a statement after being advised of her rights, Hanson allegedly said she knew N.L. had committed an assault.

She allegedly told investigators that N.L. said, “Let’s get out of here.” The complaint says N.L. believed law enforcement was coming.

Hanson allegedly said she then drove N.L. from the assault scene to the Irvine Avenue residence.

Charges And Possible Penalties

The aiding charge is listed under Minnesota Statute 609.495. It carries a maximum sentence of three years in prison. It also carries a possible $5,000 fine.

The DWI charge is listed under Minnesota Statute 169A.20. It involves any amount of a Schedule I or II drug or metabolite.

The complaint says a search warrant for a blood or urine sample was pending execution.

All charges are accusations. Hanson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
