Brutal Assault on Third Street Northwest
According to court documents, at 9:30 PM, police responded to a disturbance call on the 600 block of Third Street Northwest in Bemidji.
Upon arrival, officers found a male victim lying unresponsive on the floor, moaning in pain with severe facial injuries and a pool of blood nearby. The victim was immediately transported to the emergency room for medical treatment.
Jones Admits to Beating the Victim
Authorities interviewed Stanley Stewart Jones, who admitted to the assault.
- Jones claimed the victim attempted to punch him twice but missed.
- He then retaliated by punching the man approximately 20 times.
- Jones submitted to a preliminary breath test, which registered a .28 BAC—more than three times the legal driving limit.
