Bemidji Man Charged in Armed Riot Case
BEMIDJI, Minn. (trfnews.i234.me) — Curtis Wayne Silcox faces two charges after an alleged violent dispute in Beltrami County.
Silcox is charged with felony second-degree riot while armed with a dangerous weapon.
He also faces a gross misdemeanor indecent exposure charge involving the presence of a minor.
The allegations are detailed in a criminal complaint filed in Minnesota’s Ninth Judicial District.
911 Calls Reported Assaults
The complaint says deputies received two 911 calls from Little Norway Avenue Southeast.
The probable cause statement lists the incident date as June 12, 2026.
However, both criminal counts list the alleged offense date as July 12, 2026.
The court filing therefore contains a date conflict that remains unresolved in the complaint.
Callers reported an assault involving a Taser and another assault involving a baseball bat.
Authorities arrived and found about 12 to 15 people yelling at each other.
The group was not actively fighting when law enforcement first reached the scene.
Dispute Allegedly Began Over Property
According to the complaint, Jorgie Jaylene Boswell went to the property to retrieve personal belongings.
She was accompanied by Alayzha Ranae Skinaway and Silcox, according to the filing.
Brian Dale Preston reportedly drove the group to the residence.
The complaint says an argument developed over a PlayStation or Xbox game system.

That disagreement reportedly turned into a physical fight outside the residence.
Witness statements and videos described several objects being used during the confrontation.
Those reportedly included a Taser, baseball bat, poles, rocks, fists and feet.
The complaint alleges Skinaway used a Taser during the confrontation.
It also alleges Silcox used a pipe to strike another person.
Authorities later recovered a baseball bat from nearby woods and secured the Taser.
Indecent Exposure Allegation
The complaint also alleges Silcox exposed his buttocks during the disturbance.
Children and other bystanders were reportedly present at the time.
Prosecutors charged Silcox under Minnesota’s riot statute.
The felony riot charge carries a maximum penalty of five years or a $10,000 fine.
The indecent exposure count carries up to 364 days or a $3,000 fine.

The charges are allegations. Silcox is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
