Beltrami County Man Charged With DWI After Crash

Beltrami County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Red Lake, Minnesota man is facing a gross misdemeanor DWI charge following an investigation into an impaired driving incident in Beltrami County.

Jordan Lee Lussier, 30, of 14575 Beaver Road, Red Lake, is charged with operating a motor vehicle with an alcohol concentration of 0.08 or higher within two hours of driving.

The charge was filed in Beltrami County District Court. Court records show the offense is alleged to have happened on June 28, 2026.

Vehicle Found Along Highway 1

According to the criminal complaint, authorities were called after a report of two unresponsive people inside a vehicle parked along the shoulder of Highway 1 near mile marker 137.

The vehicle was described as a black Chevrolet Impala that was partially in the roadway.

Investigators said Lussier was found in the front passenger seat. The complaint states he showed signs of possible impairment.

The signs included confusion, slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and slow movements.

The complaint states a strong odor of alcohol was detected coming from the vehicle.

Alcohol Tests Show Elevated Levels

According to court documents, Lussier initially said he did not know who had driven the vehicle.

The complaint states he later admitted he had driven the vehicle to its location.

Officials said Lussier reported drinking alcohol, including beer and vodka, before the incident.

During field sobriety testing, the complaint states Lussier had trouble completing several tasks.

The documents state he stumbled during the walk-and-turn test. He also had difficulty maintaining balance during the one-leg stand test.

A preliminary breath test reportedly showed a result of 0.213.

After arrest, court documents state Lussier agreed to additional breath testing.

The complaint states two valid breath samples were collected. The reported alcohol concentration was 0.18.

Court records also show prior alcohol-related convictions listed in Lussier’s criminal history.

The complaint references a 2025 gross misdemeanor DWI refusal conviction.

It also references a 2023 gross misdemeanor DWI conviction.

The current charge carries a possible maximum penalty of up to 364 days in jail, a $3,000 fine, or both.

A criminal charge is only an accusation. The defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
