Becker County (trfnews.i234.me) – A disturbing scene unfolded at Round Lake on July 3rd when Lorna A. Hanes of Ponsford, Minnesota, allegedly launched into a drunken tirade, threatening to kill children who were swimming in the lake.
According to court documents, White Earth officers responded around 6:22 p.m. to a residence on Round Lake after receiving reports of a woman yelling violent threats at nearby children. Witnesses say Hanes screamed profanities and declared, “This is a Jiua territory. You need to leave… I will come down there and kill you all. I’ll kill your children.”
Police arriving on scene found Hanes intoxicated and reported that she struggled with officers during her arrest.
Hanes now faces serious charges, including a felony count of threats of violence and misdemeanor charges of harassment and disorderly conduct.
