Becker County (trfnews.i234.me)Kaylynn Lea Jackson, 21, of rural White Earth, has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony third-degree assault stemming from a violent incident in Ogema, Minnesota.

On June 17, 2024, a special agent with the White Earth Police Department responded to a residence on Loon Drive in Ogema. There, they encountered a woman with significant injuries, including blood on her face, arms, and shirt. Witnesses indicated that Jackson and another woman were responsible for the assault.

During the investigation, Jackson reportedly made several spontaneous statements, including, “I f…ing broke her nose” and “I did it, I come to beat that bitch’s ass.” She indicated that the assault was in retaliation for an incident the previous day, where her sister had been hospitalized following an altercation in White Earth.

On April 3, 2025, District Judge Michelle W. Lawson stayed the imposition of Jackson’s sentence, meaning that with successful completion of probation, the felony conviction could be reduced to a misdemeanor. Jackson was ordered to serve 45 days in jail, with credit for six days already served. She was also fined $1,000, plus $160 in court fees. Conditions of her probation include abstaining from alcohol and non-prescribed drugs, having no contact with the victim, completing cognitive skills training, and complying with cognitive behavioral interventions as directed by probation.
