BECKER COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — A Becker County man has had a serious gun possession charge dismissed as part of a broader plea agreement connected to another case.

According to court documents, the case dates back to September 12, 2022. A White Earth police officer spotted a vehicle that had been reported stolen from Duluth. The owner told police her boyfriend, Dale Steven Pindegayosh, 29, of Frazee, had taken it without permission.

When officers found the vehicle parked at a residence in White Earth, a woman there said Pindegayosh had left the keys inside. She mentioned that he needed to remove rice bags from the car before it was towed. She handed the keys to the officer to retrieve them.

When a tow truck arrived, the driver moved a pair of boots resting on top of the rice bags. Underneath, authorities found a loaded .38 caliber Rock Island Armory revolver. The gun contained six rounds of ammunition.

Forensic testing later found a fingerprint on the weapon that matched Pindegayosh. Because of a prior adjudication for a crime of violence — second-degree burglary in juvenile court — he was legally barred from possessing firearms or ammunition.

However, on September 22, 2025, the Becker County Attorney’s Office dismissed the felony gun charge. The dismissal was part of a plea deal involving a separate case in Clearwater County.

The decision closes a case that began more than three years ago, removing one of several criminal charges Pindegayosh has faced in Minnesota courts.
