Frazee, Becker County (trfnews.i234.me) – In a deeply disturbing case out of Frazee, Duke Walter Muckey, 41, is facing felony charges for failing to meet predatory offender registration requirements, after authorities discovered he’d been missing for months and living homeless in Moorhead — all while being required to register for life due to a past conviction involving a child under 13.

According to Becker County court documents, a local probation agent supervising Muckey reported to the sheriff’s office on November 12, 2024, that Muckey had not checked in for several months. Muckey, on probation for felony second-degree criminal sexual conduct, was required by law to maintain and report his residence.

Repeated visits to Muckey’s listed address in Frazee turned up empty. The family residing there told the agent that Muckey only stopped by occasionally to grab items and was instead living somewhere in Moorhead. A Becker County investigator later confirmed this with a family member, who also revealed that Muckey was effectively homeless.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension verified that Muckey had not updated his address or registered as homeless since September 23, 2024, despite legal obligations to do so. On November 22, 2024, a probation violation warrant was issued for his previous sex offense conviction involving a minor.

He was eventually arrested on January 8, 2025, after which his probation was revoked and his sentence executed. Muckey is currently incarcerated at the St. Cloud prison.
