Becker County ( trfnews.i234.me ) – A Vining man has been charged with felony third-degree burglary in Becker County District Court after authorities linked him to a large farm theft near Frazee.

According to court records, 45-year-old Luke Aaron Irwin is accused of burglarizing an unoccupied farmstead in April 2025. Among the stolen property were two blacksmith anvils valued at $1,500, a Jonsereds 49SP chainsaw, a Honda trash pump, cutting torch sets, a minibike, a valve grinder, chrome hubcaps, and other valuable tools and equipment. The total value of the items exceeds several thousand dollars.

Investigators say photos and surveillance video matched Irwin and the silver Mercedes-Benz SUV he was driving. On May 3, a sheriff’s investigator obtained a search warrant at Irwin’s residence. Officers reported finding stolen property, including a chainsaw, grinder, and hubcaps. Additional stolen items — including two anvils and a battery tester — were later recovered at a residence in Perham. Investigators say the man at that home admitted he resold items for Irwin and confirmed that Irwin personally brought in the stolen goods.

Irwin was released on August 19 without bail under standard conditions. Those conditions include having no contact with victims and staying away from the Frazee farmstead where the burglary occurred. His request for a public defender was granted by the court.

Irwin’s next appearance in Becker County District Court is scheduled for October 6 before Judge Michelle W. Lawson. If convicted, he faces significant prison time and restitution orders. More information on Minnesota burglary laws can be found here.
