GRAND RAPIDS, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – In the early hours of May 9, 2024, the Aitkin-Itasca-Mille Lacs Violent Crimes Enforcement Team (AIM VCET) launched a drug investigation in Grand Rapids. Targeting methamphetamine sales, AIM VCET agents located Emily Kocemba, 30, at a local hotel. As they prepared a search warrant, Kocemba attempted to flee but was apprehended during a traffic stop. Upon entering her hotel room, agents found two unsupervised children, aged 18 months and 8 months, alongside 20 grams of methamphetamine.

Kocemba faces severe charges, including 1st Degree Sales of a Controlled Substance and endangering children with methamphetamine presence. Currently held in Itasca County Jail, her case awaits trial.

AIM VCET collaborated with the Grand Rapids Police Department and the Itasca County Sheriff’s Office in this operation. Citizens with relevant information are urged to contact local dispatch centers or AIM VCET at 218-927-7449.

  1. Thank goodness them kids were removed from that awful situation. They deserve so much better than what they were being given. It’s a wonder they’re even okay considering they were left alone. I hope that the mom gets help.
