Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN (trfnews.i234.me)—On December 29, 2024, at approximately 7:03 a.m., St. Paul police responded to a reported shooting at the ARCO gas station located at 306 Larpenteur Avenue East. Officers found two male victims: a 33-year-old with a gunshot wound to his left knee and a 34-year-old with a gunshot wound to his lower back. One victim was discovered in a white SUV at the intersection of Wheelock Parkway and Mississippi Street; the other was found near the gas pumps.

A store employee identified coworker Antonio Allen Ellis, 22, as the shooter. According to surveillance footage, an argument inside the store between Ellis and one of the men escalated into a physical altercation outside. A second individual exited a vehicle and joined the fight, during which Ellis drew a handgun and fired multiple rounds as the men attempted to flee. Police recovered 14 spent 10mm shell casings near the store’s entrance and a Glock 10mm magazine behind a dumpster enclosure. A Glock 10mm firearm was later found east of the gas station.

Ellis turned himself into the police later that day but declined to be interviewed. Court records indicate Ellis has a prior felony conviction, prohibiting him from possessing a firearm. He has been charged with two counts of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon causing substantial bodily harm. If convicted, Ellis faces up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine for each count.
