GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – 34-year-old Demetria Clayton of Birmingham, Alabama, Faces Felony Bribery and DUI Charges

An Alabama truck driver, Demetria Clayton, is in hot water after being pulled over for suspected DUI in Grand Forks and allegedly attempting to bribe the arresting officer with $3,000. According to court documents, the incident occurred on July 7th, just before 10 p.m., when an officer responded to reports of a potential drunk driver behind the wheel of a semi.

Upon stopping the truck on the 1700 block of Demers Avenue, the officer noticed Clayton’s bloodshot, watery eyes and the smell of alcohol. Clayton admitted to drinking and failed a field sobriety test. She was subsequently arrested.

At the jail, Clayton allegedly asked the officer to turn off his body camera and offered him up to $3,000, saying, “I don’t want that on my record. You can have $3,000 in your pocket.” She now faces charges of felony bribery, DUI, and refusal to submit to a chemical test .
