WARROAD, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Jason C. Tappe of Warroad, Minnesota, is charged with assaulting two children, a 12-month-old and a 2-and-a-half-year-old. He faces four felony charges of first-degree assault, two counts of third-degree assault, and child neglect resulting in substantial harm. The children’s mother, Kaylie S. Krube, has been charged with felony child neglect. According to court documents, on May 16th, Krube brought the 12-month-old to the emergency room with multiple fractures. The child was transported via ambulance to Sanford in Fargo. The 2-and-a-half-year-old was also evaluated and found to have numerous bruises but no fractures.
Krube informed authorities that she and the children live with Tappe, who watches the children while she works. During further questioning, she admitted to witnessing Tappe hitting the children. Tappe admitted to spanking the children and locking them in a bedroom for several hours while he drove for Uber. Both have made their first court appearances. Tappe remains in jail as of May 28th with a bond set at $100,000, while Krube posted $11,000 bail under conditions including no alcohol or bars. Both are scheduled to appear in court again on June 3rd.
