Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office Report 3-5-2025

On the afternoon of 02/21/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible harassment restraining order violation. A Red Lake County deputy spoke with the reporting party, and it was determined the court order had been violated. Later that same evening, the suspect, Wade Michael Peterson (33) of Red Lake Falls was located at his residence. Mr. Peterson was arrested, taken to jail in Crookston and he was booked for misdemeanor violation of an existing court order. He was released from custody on 02/24/25.

On the evening of 02/21/25, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office reported they had arrested Jennifer Joy Olson (43) of Fosston. Red Lake County held an active misdemeanor warrant for her arrest. On 02/22/25, Ms. Olson posted $300 cash bail to satisfy the warrant, and she was released from custody. She was scheduled to appear in Court in Red Lake Falls on 02/26/25.

On the morning of 02/23/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of damage to property from a Garnes Township resident. That report remains under investigation.

On the evening of 02/23/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a disturbance at a Red Lake Falls apartment. A Red Lake County deputy responded to the scene and was informed that a visitor to the apartment was intoxicated and was causing problems. The tenant wanted that person removed from their home. When the deputy asked Ronald Golden James Hoiland (31) of Clearbrook to leave, he refused and became confrontational. Mr. Hoiland was forcibly removed from the residence, and he was placed under arrest. He was taken to jail in Crookston and was booked for misdemeanor disorderly conduct. A Minnesota State Trooper also assisted the deputy at the scene. Mr. Hoiland was released from custody on 02/24/25.

On the afternoon of 02/25/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible sexual assault that occurred several years ago in Red Lake County. That incident is still under investigation.

On the morning of 02/26/25, a Plummer resident called to request assistance in removing an unwanted party from their home. Red Lake County deputies responded, and the trespassed individual left without incident.

On the evening of 02/26/25, Wade Owen Storey (64) of Fargo was cited for speeding on CR. #11 west of Red Lake Falls.

On the evening of 02/26/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a noise complaint in the city of Red Lake Falls. A deputy found an individual sitting in a parked vehicle and they were playing music very loud. That party agreed to turn the volume down and the matter was resolved.

On the afternoon of 02/27/25, an individual reported they lost their wallet in Plummer a few days ago. If anyone locates a missing wallet in that area they can contact the Sheriff’s Office.

On the afternoon of 02/27/25, Sandra Faye Haman-Thompson (61) of Roseau was cited for speeding on CR. #5 north of Oklee.
