Spotted In Duluth, Pursuit Ends In Crash

Authorities in northeastern Minnesota were alerted after information suggested the suspect was traveling north in a stolen vehicle.

At about 9:00 a.m., a deputy reportedly spotted the vehicle in Duluth’s Lakeside neighborhood. Deputies attempted a traffic stop, and a pursuit followed.

Authorities say the vehicle went north on North Shore Drive for several miles before crashing near the intersection of North Shore Drive and Homestead Road.

The suspect ran on foot, but was captured a short time later with assistance from the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, Duluth Police, and the Minnesota State Patrol.

A St. Louis County deputy was treated and released from a local hospital for minor injuries after a collision involving the suspect vehicle and a marked patrol vehicle.

Investigation Continues

Custody of the suspect was transferred to the St. Anthony Police Department. As of early Sunday, authorities had not publicly released the names of the suspect or victims, or a motive.
