Pennington County, MN (trfnews.i234.me)—Cor PowerSports has decided to cancel the 2025 Goodridge-Grygla I-500 snowmobile race. The event was originally scheduled for February 14-15. According to Cor PowerSports officials, the current snow conditions in the Goodridge-Grygla area are insufficient, with minimal coverage that barely conceals the grass.
The event update states, “Some ditches are drifted in, but many fields and ditches remain bare. The snowmobile clubs have not been able to groom trails due to the lack of snow base, and many hazards are exposed.”
Officials considered both the immediate and long-term impacts of hosting the event. They prioritized maintaining the integrity of the trail system and relationships with landowners and local organizations. Current weather forecasts indicate no significant snowfall or colder temperatures in the coming weeks, leading to the decision to cancel.
Cor PowerSports expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Goodridge-Grygla snowmobile clubs and their dedication to the event. Plans are already underway for the 2026 Goodridge-Grygla I-500, scheduled for February 15-16, 2026.
The Goodridge-Grygla I-500, a two-day race covering 500 miles of challenging terrain, is a significant event in the snowmobile racing community. Although its format has evolved over the years, the race continues to attract racers and enthusiasts, thanks to the support of local clubs and former participants.
Cor PowerSports is exploring a possible replacement event for February 8-9, with updates expected soon.
