DETROIT LAKES, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – On Saturday, January 18, at approximately 7:34 p.m., the Becker County Sheriff’s Office responded to an incident at the Sunlite Bar and Grill. Two individuals entered the establishment reporting involvement in a vehicular collision and exhibiting apparent injuries.
The preliminary investigation indicated that 18-year-old Ronald Alvin Wright III was operating a vehicle on County Highway 21 when he lost control, resulting in a collision with a tree. This impact prevented the vehicle from entering the southern side of the Sunlite Bar and Grill.
Both Wright and a 15-year-old female passenger were transported to local hospitals for medical evaluation. Post-treatment, Wright was arrested on charges of Criminal Vehicular Operation and subsequently booked into the Becker County Jail.
The Becker County Sheriff’s Office noted that both occupants were believed to be wearing seatbelts at the time of the incident. However, alcohol and speed are suspected to have contributed to the crash.
