Minnetonka, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A Minnetonka man has admitted guilt to felony criminal vehicular operation following a high-speed collision in March that resulted in severe injuries to the victim.

Mohamed Aydarus Salad, 29, pleaded guilty to driving in a grossly negligent manner during the March 5 incident at Highway 7 and Williston Road.

Court records indicate Salad’s Chevrolet Equinox collided with another vehicle while traveling between 68 and 74 mph, with speeds reaching up to 96 mph just seconds before impact. The crash left the victim hospitalized for a month with multiple serious injuries, including time spent in a coma. Salad was operating his vehicle with a revoked license at the time.

Under the terms of a plea agreement, Salad faces an 18-month stayed prison sentence, three years of probation, and 364 days in the Hennepin County Workhouse. He will be eligible for electronic home monitoring after 180 days. Additional probation conditions include following all laws and completing any court-ordered programs.

Sentencing is set for January 29, 2025.
