St. Louis Park, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – On December 30, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m., St. Louis Park police responded to a vehicle-pedestrian collision near 7500 Excelsior Boulevard. The incident involved a vehicle driven by Jeremy Ryan Sherman, 38, of St. Louis Park, who struck two pedestrians in a crosswalk.
Emergency responders found a 51-year-old female victim unresponsive; she was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 60-year-old male victim sustained severe head injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Witnesses reported that Sherman’s vehicle was traveling at a high speed and did not slow down or brake before the collision. Officers detected a strong odor of alcohol on Sherman’s breath. Sherman denied consuming alcohol and stated he had just finished work. He agreed to field sobriety tests, which indicated impairment, but refused a preliminary breath test. A blood sample was obtained under a warrant for analysis.
Sherman was arrested and charged with criminal vehicular homicide and criminal vehicular operation, both felonies. He is currently held on a $500,000 bond and is scheduled for an initial court appearance on January 2, 2025.
