Pennington County, MN (trfnews.i234.me)—On September 27, law enforcement responded to a reported theft at the Walmart located in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. The individual involved, identified as 44-year-old Cassandra Mae Horgeshimer of Thief River Falls, has been formally charged with felony theft. A mug shot is unavailable, as Horgeshimer received a court summons rather than an arrest. The official complaint was filed on December 23.
According to the filed complaint, Horgeshimer is accused of setting aside merchandise and subsequently placing unscanned items into bags containing scanned goods. She also allegedly rearranged items in her cart, neglecting to scan all merchandise. During these transactions, multiple Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards and other credit cards were utilized. When she drew the attention of Walmart employees, she reportedly created diversions, such as requesting the removal of unwanted items or leaving her cart at the self-checkout area to re-enter the store.
The investigation indicates that between June 17 and August 29, Horgeshimer allegedly conducted 23 shopping trips during which she failed to pay for merchandise totaling $1,106.20.
