Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN (trfnews.i234.me)—A 67-year-old man from Spicer, Minnesota, died on Tuesday morning after his truck collided with a railroad bridge in Kandiyohi County. The incident occurred at 7:17 a.m. on northbound Highway 71 near Milepost 124 in Willmar Township. The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a 2018 Peterbilt straight truck, driven by Terry Allan Vreeman, struck the bridge while traveling on the highway.
Emergency responders from Willmar Police, Willmar Fire, Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, and Kandiyohi County Rescue arrived at the scene. Vreeman was transported to Rice Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities noted that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The truck’s airbags deployed, and alcohol is not believed to have been a factor. The road was reported to be dry at the time of the incident. The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
